As one of the world’s designated Dark Sky Parks, Budle Bay is a highly sought after holiday destination, due to its picturesque location and natural beauty in Northumberland. Our self-catering, dog-friendly cottages are set just footsteps from the sandy beaches of Budle Bay, where you can make use of our private stretch of sand and then retire to a cosy Northumbrian cottage.
Our private beach provides the perfect place for children to safely play in the sand dunes or to explore the remains of jetties that have been left from the industrial past. Alternatively, for those who enjoy walking, the circular walk from Budle Bay to Bamburgh offers a beautiful trail for catching a glimpse of the sun as it sets over the water. The distance of the walk is just under four miles, so can be attempted by people of all ages.

Pipistrelle is part of the Heather House collection of cottages, situated just above Budle Bay, and provides comfortable living for up to 8 guests with panoramic views of Budle Bay and up the coast to Holy Island. This cottage features spacious en-suite bedrooms, private hot tub, private sauna, enclosed gardens and a wonderful sandy beach 500 yards from the back door.

Our country holiday cottages are located in the heart of Lucker village, which is just 3-miles from Bamburgh and the scenic Northumberland Coast. The Apple Inn, a countryside pub is located in Lucker and serves award-winning traditional pub food and ales. Guests of Stablewood Coastal Cottages are welcome to a 5% discount at The Apple Inn.
There is also an award-winning spa, beauty and fitness suite in Lucker, of which guests of Stablewood Coastal Cottages are offered complimentary passes courtesy of Beau Monde.
Lucker’s proximity to major attractions in Northumberland affords guests the flexibility to enjoy a relaxing break in the village as well as easily being able to venture out to Holy Island, the Alnwick Castle and Gardens, or dip your toes in the sea and build sandcastles on the beach. Even your four legged family members are welcome in our cottages, and we’ll leave dog treats for their arrival!

We have two log cabins in Budle Bay, which are both dog-friendly and set right within the dunes of Budle Bay sands.
Brown Owl Lodge (sleeps 4) and Grey Heron Lodge (sleeps 6) provide the perfect getaway for those looking for peaceful surroundings by the sea.
The lodges have access to a privately owned sandy beach for all guests to enjoy, where you can relish the area’s natural beauty and take in the peacefulness of this wonderful part of the country.

Brown Owl Lodge is a cosy log cabin, which provides a spacious open plan kitchen, living room and dining area with access to the patio and outside seating area.
The lodge sleeps upto 4 guests, with one king-sized bedroom and en-suite shower room, WC and wash basin, along with a twin bedroom and bathroom with shower over bath, WC and hand basin.

Located across the road from The Apple Inn, the wooden huts offer peaceful countryside accommodation with wood burning stoves within reach of some of Northumberland’s favourite tourism spots, castles, beaches and coastal walks.
Each Shepherd’s hut is home to a warm and cosy living and dining area, with an en-suite shower room and king-size bed. They are all designed to comfortably accommodate two adults—and they are dog-friendly too!

The Apple Inn is an award-winning gastro pub located within the village of Lucker in Northumberland, which serves breakfast, along with traditional pub food and real ales. Dogs are welcome to join you at The Apple Inn and we also treat all our guests to 5% discount on presentation of your key fob.
Hot Tubs
If you would like to add a hot tub to your cottage, we can arrange to set up a Lazy Spa for an additional £125.
